Celebrating Healthy Choices
Launched in 2009 and modeled after the internationally successful Life of an Athlete program created by John Underwood, a former NCAA All-American distance runner and Olympic trainer, Pure Performance is dedicated to promoting healthy choices. Once students understand the positive impact of working out, recovery, sleep and proper nutrition they are less likely to undermine their hard work by using drugs and alcohol.
Enhancing the Culture of Healthy Choices
Pure Performance results in hallways full of high-impact posters, newsletters to families, powerful videos and ads in the student newspaper that saturate the student environment with the message that good choices help ensure a good sports season, a successful activity and a better life!
Creating a Generation of Leaders and Dynamic Individuals
The foundation of Pure Performance is built on strong communication. By enhancing the general culture of healthy choices and encouraging team building and leadership development, CAN and Pure Performance work hand-in-hand to build teams and celebrate victories.

Be A Superfan
The Superfan award program was created as a mechanism to encourage to support their peers. Each “Season” (fall, winter, and spring) a Superfan Card is created listing all of the CHS activities for that season. Students must attend one of each of these activities and have their superfan card initialed by a member of the staff or a coach. Completed cards can then be turned in to receive a Superfan shirt.
Increased levels of reward fan gear are in the works for students (and staff) who complete a superfan card for two or three consecutive seasons.
